The Dallas Cowboys have found themselves in a situation where they may need to explore trading Dak Prescott.
Prescott is approaching the final year of his contract without a clear resolution in sight. With that in mind, a proposed trade would see the Cowboys sending Prescott to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for draft picks and backup quarterback Gardner Minshew.
The proposed trade was reported by FS1's Craig Carton, with a tweet suggesting it could be a viable option.

Why the Cowboys would consider trading Dak Prescott The narrative suggests the Cowboys are likely to trade Prescott - and possibly get something in return - before he has a chance to leave in free agency next season. Although Carton did not specify the exact draft picks mentioned, it's likely safe to assume that at least one of them will be a high-quality pick to choose a potential replacement. In this scenario, the Cowboys would find themselves in a unique situation at quarterback with the ability to simultaneously start a young quarterback while adding a backup to the quarterback position on game day.
The vibe this day will cause a second NFL uproar for clear reasons. But it can't be expressed when saying the Cowboys are capable of buying out Prescott - even after he won a second MVP in the previous season's selection round.
Prescott, 30, has started in 8 seasons in Dallas, but the Cowboys have never made it past the direct elimination round under his leadership. His next contract will be a repayment for him in the amount, as his projected value is $50.8 million per year with a total of $203 million, according to Spotrac.
