Young Shepherdess and Her Dog Save the Day in Snowy Rescue!
Eleven-year-old Hamdü Sena Bilgin isn't your average kid. Living in a small village outside Rize, Turkey, she's a shepherdess alongside her trusty canine companion, Tomi. Together, they're responsible for guiding and protecting the family's herd of goats, a source of their livelihood.
One snowy day, while herding the goats on a distant slope, Hamdü discovered a mother goat in labor. Worried about the weak mother and her newborn struggling in the harsh conditions, Hamdü hatched a brilliant plan.
"After the goat gave birth, I led the rest of the herd back home," Hamdü explains in a recent interview. "Then, with Tomi by my side, I returned to the mama goat and her kid."
This resourceful young shepherdess grabbed two backpacks from their house. She then carried the mother goat on her own back, a testament to her strength and determination. Tomi, ever the loyal partner, stepped up by carrying the fragile newborn kid in his backpack!
Their journey home was a success, documented by Hamdü's 15-year-old brother who captured these heartwarming photos. Thanks to him, the world got to witness Hamdü's act of heroism
"The snow was deep, and I was exhausted," Hamdü admits humbly. "But it was all worth it."
